Just off the main legendary gay strip in Sydney, Arq has been around for a few years now and is still about the best dance venue in Sydney. Saturdays are a pretty mixed crowd with Sunday's being the most gay with drag shows by legendary Sydney drag star Mitzi Macintosh and co-horts.

Arq Sydney took five years to research and build and is Sydney's only purpose built venue, it's the biggest venue with different alternatives in music and environment over two floors plus a mezzanine level.

The main dance space on the upper floor has fantastic lighting and sound with bars on either side of the wide spacious dance floor. Downstairs is a bit more chilled with more of a cocktail bar feel and comfy lounges to chat while you watch others play pool. Part of the fun at the venue is watching party-goers trying to negotiate the big revolving doors on both main floors. Stop to greet your friends at the door at your own peril.
