Exhaust yourself reeling in a giant sailfish.

The Carlton Midstrength Northern Territory Billfish Championship, hosted by the Gove Game Fishing Club Inc, is the Territory's premier bluewater event. This tag-and-release comp is only for marlin and sailfish and is a keenly contested challenge. Competitors fish in pristine waters that saw a total of 30 sailfish and 4 black marlin (80 kilograms plus) tagged when this event was last held. Fish can be caught within 5 miles of the export wharf, and there are great prizes and a great atmosphere among competing anglers.

Four full days of fishing is followed by a presentation night held on the Friday. This is a team event with boat fishing only, charters can be organised, but you must book early.
