Perth's very own film festival celebrates it's tenth birthday this year. In a programme titled, "Revolution. Retrospective. Revelation,"the fastest growing film festival nationally will screen around one hundred different films. New features, documentaries, animations, children's films, short films, music videos and experimental works are drawn directly from the international film festival and independent film circuit. The 2007 line up will include many Australian premieres and feature award winners from some of the world's largest film festivals. With special guests, a micro cinema showcase and late-licensed festival club, filmmaker discussions, and a host of other music and film related activities, Revelation offers a film environment quite unlike anything else.

In association with Tezuka Productions, Revelation 10 is screening the special programme, Focus on Tezuka, curated by Philip Brophy and presented by the Australian Centre for the Moving Image. This not to be missed event includes a 'Kid's Flick' component, four adult animations as well as commentary on how Osamu Tezuka transformed his manga into anime.

Revelation's Screen Conference will focus on the Art of Music Video, with international and local showcases, and the Art of the Short Film. Brent Hoff, editor of the fabulous Wholphin DVD Magazine in San Francisco an offshoot of the hugely cool journal, McSweeny's, will screen a selection of rarely seen films. This features some exciting panels including, Acting for the Screen with Western Australia's prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), High Definition Cinematography and many more. The conference has something for everyone; from engaged audiences to music and film professionals.

The festival club runs each Friday to Sunday of the event. Evenings at the club will mix Revelation's Cinema Tabu micro cinema showcase with disc jockey's, video jockeys, live music, and new media installations. Special guest filmmaker and sound design artist, Philip Brophy, will be performing The Planets, a re-mixed presentation of his exquisite cinema scores live, and screening his Evaporated Music series.

With critical, discerning audiences, an interest in progressive styles and a programme that integrates film, live music and visual art, Revelation is the most vibrant and individual film event in the country.
