Perth Gay Pride

Perth comes out of the closet for this major event for Gays and Lesbians in Western Australia. Over a four-week period in Australia's springtime, Perth comes alive with Australia's second largest pride event. The event is a culmination of film and writers festivals, parties, concerts, forums, shows, community that includes the hugely popular Pride parade and dance party. www.pridewa.asn.au

Although not noted for the cultural splendour of Melbourne, the grandeur of Sydney or even the flourishes of Brisbane, Perth has a lively arts scene which attracts loyal and devoted audiences. Many fine actors, musicians and dancers emerge from its well-regarded performing arts academy and the Perth Cultural Centre, featuring the State Library, museum and art gallery is an accessible meeting place next to the main railway station and regularly hosts internationally acclaimed exhibitions and events.

Football Culture

Another local tradition is Aussie Rules football – head to Subiaco Oval to see one of the local Australian Football League teams. You dont have to understand the game, just sit back and enjoy the gorgeous men in their tight footy shorts! More eye candy than you might get in one night!

Sports fans are well catered for here too, with cricket at the WACA ground in East Perth and Aussie Rules football games each winter weekend at Subiaco Oval. The after-game drinking sessions at any of the Subiaco pubs are legendary for their raucousness and the eye candy.
