The Race that stops a Nation!

It's Melbourne Cup time again! The first Tuesday of November every year at 3.20pm is a wondrous time in Australia. The entire nation stops for the one horse race - the Melbourne Cup.

Melbourne Cup has become an Aussie tradition. So too has Derby Day, held on the Saturday before Melbourne Cup, and the races that follow - Oaks Day, or better known as "Ladies Day", where ladies don their hats at the Flemington Spring Carnival and of course the famous Stakes Day.
