McWilliams Mount Pleasant Estate

Established in 1921 by Maurice O'Shea - one of the pioneers of Australian winemaking - the historic Mount Pleasant winery nestles on the slopes of the Brokenback range in the Hunter Valley.

The hub of the various Mount Pleasant vineyards is the Mount Pleasant Estate Wine and Food Centre, which is one of the Hunter Valley's most popular destinations of wine tourism. Mount Pleasant Estate offers tastings of some of Australia's most respected wines, including Elizabeth and Lovedale Semillon, Rosehill Shiraz and the acclaimed Maurice O'Shea Shiraz.

Set amongst picturesque and historic vineyards, the key attractions include Elizabeth's, which is a relaxed dining venue for lunches, morning and afternoon teas, evening functions and wedding receptions. The Estate also offers a wine-related gift shop, a function centre, picnic facilities, winery tours, and special events such as the Hunter Valley Harvest Festival (in March and April) and the Budburst Festival in September.

The menu for Elizabeth's Cafe - which uses local produce whenever possible - has been designed to appeal to both international and domestic tourists. One of the most popular selections is our wine appreciation tasting plate which includes a selection of dishes complimented with a selection of tasting glasses of Mount Pleasant wines.

Tours run daily at: 11.00am
Cost of tour : $3.30 per person (Free for wine club members)
