Throb Nightclub

Throb Nightclub continues to bring joy and happiness to the Gay, Lesbian and Straight markets of Darwin. A gay club with a very mixed audience.

With a free to-be attitude, Throb brings Darwin into the 21st century providing the best dance music, live entertainment all mixed in with a great atmosphere. Rave reviews from Triple J and Channel V's with Andrew G are a testimony to the success of this mighty little club.

Throb opens Friday and Saturday nights only with a show starting at 1.30 am on both nights.

The shows are very popular with the locals and tourists and star some of Darwin's premier Drag Queens, such as Marzi Panne, Josie Baker, Follatia Glyde, Crystal Love and Miss Naomi. These fabulous Divas are backed up by the very sexy Tom Cats and ultra sexy Pussycats who purr their way onto the stage with precision choreogragphy, mime and dance.

The Newest member of the Tom Cats, this lean, mean, dancing machine's sleek, muscular body is an instant hit with the throb crowd. Temperatures rise and mouths water when the tallest feline in the Catery strides high among the Toms and Queens.

Stalking his prey with a fierce, defiant glint in his eye, one leap from his powerful hind legs and the world goes into slow motion as he takes the audience down in a fatal death roll, ending in a roar of applause and elevated heartbeats.

Comic, tragic, spontaneous, sarcastic, original, soft, compassionate, hard nosed bitch, brutish slave, impetuous, incredible, powerful, playful, pragmatic, charismatic, loyal, cheeky, generous, fearless...drunk....

This drag artiste, who knows how to make everyone laugh, cry, cheer and participate. Follatia's commanding stage presence draws everyone's attention, on the mike, her unique vocal qualities draws everyone's attention as well...even out on the street! Follatia has introduced throb to the Global Village as throb's live visual feed acquired audio streaming as well...Now she draws everyone's attention from around the planet! When it comes to her performance, no-one can stop her, although a nice glass of Chardy might delay her a little. If you try and be a smartarse at her when she's on stage, you better be quick with the witty one-liners, or she'll eat you alive, to the delight of the audience. Her screeching rendition of Happy Birthday to whoever is having one is a long standing joke amongst the regulars at throb.

Follatia has been involved with shows from the beginning and has come a long way from the shy, quiet type she used to be. Once, she used to sit quietly with a drink...or two...or three..then suddenly, out of the blue, as if by some supernatural intervention, she transformed into a full blown performer. Just like a rare and exotic butterfly emerging from inside its cocoon for its wet, floppy wings to pump up and harden.
