Miles and Miles of beach (and dunes!)
Looking South towards Main Beach Byron Bay

An alternative to Kings Beach is Belongil Beach. Head out of Byron Bay and look for the signs leading to Tyagarah Tea Tree Lakes. Follow this dirt road all the way to the end. Don't forget to pay for parking!

You have miles and miles of beach (and dunes!) with views of the Gold Coast in the distance.

The beach is better known as a place for a quiet stroll down the seemingly endless sands that take you all the way back to Byron or north to Brunswick Heads, but action does take place occasionally in the dunes.

If you prefer to exercise, you can walk to Belongil Beach. Head down to Main Beach at Byron Bay and make a left at the car park on to the beach. It should take you 20 minutes!

Don't forget water and food and look out for the high tides!

Directions - Driving

From Byron Bay town centre head north out of town along the Ewingsdale Road. At the junction of the Pacific Highway, take the Tweed Heads route north for 5km until you reach the Grays Lane junction to the right. You will need to be in the right land of the dual carriageway as you approach.

Follow this track, much of which is unsealed for about 3km, Belongil beach is at the end of this road which leads directly to the car park.

You may want to visit Tyagarah Tea Tree Lakes which are on the left before you reach the car park.
