Kununurra is the home of The Kimberley Echo. Perched at the far north east corner of Western Australia it is the main regional centre for the area and about 250 kilometers away from Purnululu National Park and the Bungle Bungle Range.Kununurra is one of the nations newest settlements and in a short period of time has prospered to a population of 6,500. The Kimberley Echo, established since 1980 has seen and covered all the major changes in the region and enjoys a strong readership and loyal local following.Most interesting perhaps is the paper's online archive, which presents front page articles going back 5+ year. For us city dwellers, it's a facinating and sometimes stark look at life in the very isolated West.
