Broome's 35 year old traditional festival will bring the streets alive with local flavour. The town's unique history meets the modern day community and showcases itself in Shinju Matsuri.

Broome is full of exceptional artistic talent and when you join that with it's multi- cultural community and the spectacular landscapes of the Kimberley, you have ten days of very special events. The Japanese, Chinese, Malay, European and others who come to work in the pearling industry joined with Indigenous and white Australians have made Broome's community so diverse.

The beauty of Broome and the people of today make this like no other place on earth. This is why this town draws a large number of tourists from all over the world despite it's geographical isolation.

Friday 16th of September will start with an opening ceremony incorporating the town's diversity, later that day the Shinju Paspaley ball incorporating the Shinju Queen events will be held outdoors at the Mecure Inn Continental Broome under the Lunar Circus big top tent.

Chinatown comes alive with the Float Parade and Marde Gras over the first weekend and the week is full of many varied events and exhibitions. Saturday the 24th of September will hold the Family Beach Fun Day down on Cable Beach and the grande finale and firemorks is held at Gantheum Point on Sunday 25th of September.
