Regular tours are offered each Tuesday morning and bookings in advance are essential. The guides, most of who are graduates of the University share many wonderful stories from the past as they describe the finer features of the Mitchell Building, the Barr Smith Library and other interesting buildings throughout the campus.

The work of some of Australia's finest artists is represented in the University's art collections and visitors will experience the enjoyment, as they take the tour and view the broad scope of works from formal portraiture and landscapes to surrealist, expressionist and abstract works, imposing sculptures and beautiful stained glass windows.

These tours provide parents of new students, community groups, international visitors and members of the public with an ideal opportunity to view South Australia's oldest University or perhaps for graduates to revisit their alma mater. Individuals, families and groups are all welcome. The tour takes approximately one hour. Meet your guide at University Gate 20, right next to the Art Gallery on North Terrace.

After the tour why not enjoy a cup of coffee or a light meal in one of the University of Adelaide Union's coffee lounges or cafes, good food, good coffee, and some of the best views in Adelaide.
