Adelaide Festival Centre

The Adelaide Festival Centre on the banks of the River Torrens was the first multi-purpose arts centre built in Australia and maintains its status as the creative heart of South Australia - the place where people and ideas connect with each other. It is an iconic entity and enterprise which realises the aspiration that a creative performing arts centre is at the heart of a thriving city and state - a powerhouse for arts, tourism and city revitalisation.

The Artspace is the Adelaide Festival Centre's gallery exhibition space. Situated above the Drama Centre, the Artspace also hosts a variety of performances, from shows in the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, to the regular Sunday Spectrum shows. The Artspace hours are Wednesday to Saturday 12 noon to 5pm, and Sunday 10am to 1pm. The Artspace re-opens at 2pm on Sundays for pre show drinks and nibbles with Sunday Spectrum concerts from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

You can take a "behind the scenes" tour of the Festival Centre every Tuesday and Thursday at 10am. Peek inside dressing rooms, see the stage shared by some of the theatre's great luminaries, and view performance spaces from the perspective of the performer!
