Darwin: Tropical Jewel

Darwin is closer to Asia than it is to Sydney; it's a cultural center perched at the tip of the Australian continent, and its tropical, solar climate is a perfect atmosphere for wining, dining, and shopping. Darwin hosts nightclubs, a casino, theatres, restaurants, and multi-cultural markets that are internationally famous.

If you're looking for the great outdoors, Darwin has it all: beaches, parks, springs, hiking, diving, and natural wonder in every form. Visit Casuarina, Fannie Bay, Mindil and Vestys Beaches, which are all close to the city. However, from late October to early May, venomous box jellyfish make beaches and open waterways places to avoid. Luckily Darwin has plenty of popular freshwater swimming spots nearby, such as Howard Springs, Berry Springs and Manton Dam.
